Atë ditë u fikën dritat e shpirtit
Dielli i pakësoi rrezet e tij
Ia ndale dhe ia shtove erën malit
Arave tona iu dhurove freski.

Mjellmave ua kompozove këngën
Ua akordove edhe çdo melodi
Hasit për t’ia shëruar plagën
Nënave ia ndale lotin në liri.

Dritën e linde nga fundi i tunelit
Rugovës ia kopjove urtësin
Ia ruajte fjalën dhe veprën
Si shqiponja e ruajte fuqin.

Dritat e shpirtit tim mi fike
Telat e zemrës mi ndeze me dashuri
Atë ditë kur kalove nga Drini
Engjullin kur e ushqeje nën bli.
